Press Release: The Stock Operator Opens Its Doors — Guy Gentile Puts 30 Years Of Desk Method Into A Single Playbook

The Stock Operator is now the working home for how I actually trade: momentum on the open, short-selling discipline, and risk rules before profit-and-loss. Live at thestockoperator.com, with the $35 written strategy guide and the companion book on Amazon. Not a chat room, not a signal service, not an affiliate funnel.

Plate 61 — Thirty years of tape, written down once. The Stock Operator is live at thestockoperator.com.

Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates — August 3, 2026. The Stock Operator is open. It is the working home for how I actually trade, and it lives at thestockoperator.com.

I have spent thirty years on two sides of the same business. I founded DAS Trader, the direct-access execution platform that desks across the industry still route through. I founded SpeedTrader. I built SureTrader in the Bahamas and ran it for years. And in between building the plumbing, I traded through it — the open, the fade, the squeeze, the days that paid and the days that took it back.

The Stock Operator is where that gets written down. Not the highlight reel. The method.

What It Is — And What It Deliberately Is Not

Let me start with what it is not, because that list matters more to me than the marketing. It is not a chat room. It is not a signal service. There are no alerts, no entries pushed to your phone, no room full of people telling each other they are geniuses at 9:47 in the morning. And it is not an affiliate funnel — I am not routing you to a broker to collect a rebate on your commissions.

What it is: a written, structured account of the setups, risk rules, and mindset I run on the desk. You read it, you test it, you decide whether it fits how you are wired. That is the entire transaction. If a method cannot survive being written down in plain language and handed to a stranger, it was never a method — it was luck with a good story attached.

The reason it is written rather than streamed is simple. Live rooms teach dependence. A page teaches you to think, and thinking is the only part of this that compounds.

Where to start:

The Four Pillars

Momentum on the open. The first hour is where the money and the damage both live. Gap structure, relative volume, and the difference between a real trend day and a fade dressed up as one — this is the pattern I have traded thousands of times, going back to the Nassau desk.

Short-selling discipline. Where to short, where absolutely not to, and the rules that stop a short book from ending your career in a single squeeze. Built out of decades of running locates in small-cap and microcap names, including the years when I was the one clearing them.

Risk first, profit-and-loss second. Stop placement, position sizing, daily loss limits. This is the least exciting section and the only one that decides whether you get to year three. Most retail traders do not lose because their read is bad. They lose because their size is wrong and they have no line they refuse to cross.

The written guide. Thirty-five dollars for the playbook. That price is deliberate. Nobody needs to spend four figures on a course to learn a method that fits on paper, and anybody charging you that is selling access, not knowledge.

Why I Am Doing This Now

The companion book, The Stock Operator: The Rise, Fall, and Return of an American Trader, is on Amazon and tells the story. The site teaches the method. Read the book if you want to know how I got here. Read the site if you want to trade.
