Privacy Policy
What personal information this site collects, why it is collected, who processes it, and how you can access or delete it.
Who we are
This site is operated by Guy Gentile, Compass Building, Al Hulaila Industrial Zone-FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. For any privacy question, use the contact page.
Information we collect
We only collect what the site actually needs to work:
- Account data. If you register or sign in (including with Google), we receive your email address, an optional name, and an authentication identifier.
- Newsletter data. Your email address, subscription status, confirmation timestamp, and whether emails were opened or links clicked.
- Messages you send. The name, email, message text, and any file you attach through the contact form.
- Course activity. Which lessons you have completed and your quiz scores. Progress is stored in your browser; if you are signed in, it may also be stored with your account.
- Payment data. If you buy a membership or make a contribution, our payment processor handles the transaction and we receive only confirmation details such as status, amount, and a transaction reference. We never see or store your full card number.
- Technical and usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referring page, timestamp) and aggregate page-view counts used to understand which articles are read.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we do not sell personal data.
How we use it
To provide accounts and gated content; to send the newsletter and notifications you asked for; to answer your messages; to process payments and grant membership access; to measure which content performs; to keep the site secure and prevent abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (for EU/UK visitors)
We rely on: contract for accounts, purchases, and course access; consent for the newsletter and browser notifications (withdrawable at any time); and legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention, and basic aggregate analytics.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage for essential functions only: keeping you signed in, remembering your language choice, storing course progress and quiz results, and remembering site-access state. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. You can clear this data in your browser at any time, though signed-in features may stop working.
Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the site: a managed cloud backend for the database, file storage, and authentication; an email delivery provider for newsletters and transactional email; a payment processor for purchases and contributions; and hosting/CDN infrastructure. Some third-party embeds, such as video players, may load content from their own servers when you view a page. Each provider may process your data only for the purpose of delivering their service to us.
International transfers
The site and its providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by our providers.
How long we keep data
Account and membership records are kept while your account is active and for as long as needed for tax and legal purposes. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not email you again. Contact messages and attachments are kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are retained on a short rolling basis.
Security
Data is stored in access-controlled systems with row-level security policies, encrypted connections, and private storage buckets for uploaded files. Administrative access is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending sensitive personal or financial details through the contact form.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy in portable form, restriction of processing, or withdrawal of consent. You can unsubscribe from email with the link in any message, turn off browser notifications in your browser settings, and ask us to delete your account. Send requests through the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy. See also our Terms & Conditions.
