Rogue Informant is a feature film in development based on the true story of Guy Gentile — Wall Street trader, founder of SureTrader / MintBroker International, and FBI cooperator whose March 23, 2016 federal criminal indictment was dismissed January 30, 2017 on statute-of-limitations grounds. Rogue Informant is a feature-length biographical crime-thriller in development based on the true story of Guy Gentile — a U.S. securities professional (FINRA CRD #3173560), founder of SpeedTrader and SureTrader (MintBroker International Ltd.), and a long-time federal cooperator. Drawing on federal court records, declassified FBI memoranda, contemporaneous reporting by Bloomberg, Law360, and Reuters, and Gentile's own first-person account, the film follows the post-2008 rise of online retail trading, the offshore brokerage boom, the federal criminal indictment returned March 23, 2016 and dismissed by the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on January 30, 2017 on statute-of-limitations grounds, and the separate SEC civil action filed March 22, 2021 that produced a Miami civil liability verdict July 2, 2024 and final judgment October 17, 2025.
