What happened to SureTrader?

A direct, sourced answer.

SureTrader (MintBroker International, Ltd.) was a Bahamas-licensed broker-dealer that operated from 2011 until 2019, when it was wound down through a court-supervised liquidation in the Supreme Court of The Bahamas. The firm was regulated by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas for its entire operating life. The wind-up is an orderly, court-supervised process — not a collapse, and not a finding of wrongdoing.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission later brought a civil action in the Southern District of Florida arguing that the same Bahamas-licensed firm also needed to register in the United States. That case is on appeal in the Eleventh Circuit. It was a registration dispute under U.S. law — not an allegation of theft, misappropriation, or fraud against customers.
