Is Rogue Informant a real film?
Yes. Rogue Informant is a feature film in active development based on the true story of Guy Gentile. It is not yet in production. The official companion site is rogueinformant.com and the source-of-record for the subject is guygentile.com.
Is Guy Gentile a real person?
Yes. Guy Gentile is a U.S. securities professional (FINRA CRD #3173560), founder of SpeedTrader and SureTrader / MintBroker International, and a documented federal cooperator. His full public record is at guygentile.com.
Was Guy Gentile convicted of a crime?
No. On January 30, 2017, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey dismissed the federal criminal indictment returned March 23, 2016 on statute-of-limitations grounds. This was a dismissal, not a jury acquittal. Separately, an SEC civil action filed March 22, 2021 produced a Miami civil liability verdict on July 2, 2024 and final judgment on October 17, 2025; that judgment is on appeal.
